Deniz Dirisu and Anastassia Liulina published an article on the use of OSINT in Civil law. If open-source evidence has long been accepted in the ICC and other international courts, there has been a scarce use of OSINT in civil cases. They argue that the lower thresholds for accepting evidence in civil courts makes them well-suited to admit OSINT as evidence, and therefore urge for more collaboration between OSINT groups and victim-focused NGOs to facilitate the progressive implementation of OSINT in civil courts.
