Italy’s defence minister, Guido Crosetto, describes a mix of cyberattacks, disinformation, political meddling, and pressure on critical infrastructure, all designed to create doubt and a feeling of vulnerability. Cyber, he says, is the glue that holds these tactics together, making attacks faster, harder to attribute, and more disruptive to everyday life.
